September 14 - Opening
Ceremonies -
Meet and
Greet.... Heather room,
Glenghorm Beach Resort,
Ingonish, at 8:00 pm.
September 15 - Cape Breton
Weather Watching,
Cape Breton is a real-time
weather museum.
Traveling around the Island
you can see the green flash
in Green Cove, mirages in
Mira,
fog in Fourchu, rainbows in
Reserve Mines, crepuscular
rays in Creignish and still
be
home in time for supper.
Bill Danielson, retired
meteorology professor and
author of
“Cape Breton Weather
Watching” will be your guide
on this tour of Cape
Breton’s most
delightful and terrifying
weather spectacles.

St. Paul's Island,
Billy Budge will share his
experiences living as a
lighthousekeeper's

The Wild
Beauty of Kenya National
Parks,
Marie-Eve
Bissonnette and
Jean-Francois Bisaillon, a
Park Warden at CBHNP, are
back from a trip to
some of the most beautiful
parks of Kenya. They
spent a month exploring the
coastal, grasslands and
mountain ecosystems and then
Jean-Francois extended his
trip to work with the Kenya
Wildlife Service in Tsavo
National Park. Come
discover the people and
wildlife of one of Africa's
incredible countries.

Strictly for
the Birds
– Join naturalist and birder
Bethsheila Kent for an
evening of
birding info and insight.
Pointers on how to identify
common birds and their
songs,
easy and sure-fire tricks to
assist you in zero-ing in on
those elusive winged wonders
and an opportunity to share
your favourite birding
anecdotes. From songsters
to
soarers, the avifauna of
northern Cape Breton is…
well, strictly for the
birds.

Wild Wonders
of Diverse Landscapes -
Marie Stradeski, coordinates
the Heritage
Presentation and Outreach
Education for Cape Breton
Highlands National Park.
Originally from
Saskatchewan, she has
enjoyed exploring the
diversity of the highlands
via hiking and backcountry
skiing as well as making
discoveries by kayak within
the
magnificent marine habitat.
She will share her favorite
photos of these magical
experiences in Cape Breton
and conclude with a short
nature video that also
celebrates
the wild wonders of her
prairie home.
